The Batavia VA Medical Center will host a PTSD Awareness event in Batavia on Thursday morning, June 15.
“Take a Knee on PTSD” is open to veterans and their families as well as the general public, veteran advocates and other community partners.
The purpose is to increase awareness of the health issues surrounding PTSD and potential treatment options.
Some people will share their experiences, including Marine Corps veteran Jessica Goodell, author of "Shade it Black: Death and After Iraq;" Nicholas Stefanovic, Rochester Treatment Court and Marine Corps veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom; and Earl Granville, former Pennsylvania Army National Guardsman and veteran of Operation Joint Forge – Bosnia.
The event begins at 9 a.m. in the VA Building 4 Auditorium.
