Bishop Timon-St. Jude star and All-Western New York first team selection Matt Myers announced via Twitter he will play Division I football in his hometown at the University at Buffalo.
Myers, a quarterback/punter/kicker, earned All-WNY first team honors last fall following a junior season in which he earned Monsignor Martin offensive player of the year laurels.
In eight games, the dual-threat QB completed 110-of-193 passes for 1,342 and rushed 96 times for 830 yards and 12 TDs. He also averaged 45-yards per punt for the season.
In the Tigers' 7-0 win over eventual state Catholic champion Canisius, he averaged 47-yards per punt in rainy conditions.
He also accounted for six touchdowns (five rushing) in a game against St. Francis.
