Victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake of 2011 will be remembered at a special concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Clarence Presbyterian Church, 9675 Main St.
The performance will be given in honor of six special guests from Iwate Prefecture, Japan where the earthquake and tsunami hit in March 2011. The visitors are in the Buffalo area to thank those who raised funds and volunteered to help the devastated area in 2011.
The concert will feature the orchestra and chorus of the Clarence Presbyterian Church and the Japanese Group of Buffalo Chorus.
Japanese composers will be featured in the program with taishogoto (electric stringed harp) performances, flute ensembles and a violin duo.
