An 85-year-old man drove through a stop sign on Scott Street at Washington Street and crashed into the left side of a NFTA Metro bus just before 2 p.m. Sunday. He had to be freed from his vehicle by Buffalo firefighters who were called to the scene.
The driver was taken to Mercy Hospital for observation, according to Helen Tederous, spokeswoman for the NFTA. Tederous said the bus driver was alone in the bus and was not injured in the accident.
Officials did not disclose the name of the other driver and said the crash is being investigated.
