What to know: It looks like a breeze would blow the rail-thin Pettersson on his side. It’s not true, though. He creates a breeze whenever he skates, and he just keeps on motoring.
The center was an offensive juggernaut in Sweden’s second division, averaging nearly a point per game and ranking second on his team in goals. His assist total was the highest of any junior-aged player in the league. He’s smart and creative, traits that are clearly in demand. If put in a one-on-one situation, odds are good he’s going to win.
While he’s a star at home, he hasn’t found success on the international stage. He had no goals and one assist in six games for Sweden at the world junior championships. He scored just once in seven games at the under-18 world tournament last season, but he did manage seven assists.
