Randolph R. Scott Jr. of Niagara Falls uses a wheelchair because his legs are paralyzed, but a prosecutor said Wednesday that Scott has used his arms three times to assault children.
Scott, 39, of Main Street, Niagara Falls, pleaded guilty Wednesday to a felony, attempted second-degree assault, for beating his 11-year-old son on the shoulders and feet with a wooden back scratcher May 20 or 21, 2016.
Niagara County First Assistant District Attorney Holly E. Sloma said Scott was allowed to plead guilty to a misdemeanor for assaulting the same child when the boy was 5 years old. Also in 2010, Scott incurred another misdemeanor conviction for striking a 9-year-old girl and breaking her arm, Sloma said.
Scott could go to prison for as long as four years when he is sentenced Sept. 28 by State Supreme Court Justice Richard C. Kloch Sr.
