The Atlantic 10 Conference schedule-maker had good news and bad on Wednesday for St. Bonaventure men’s basketball next season.
The Bonnies will face six of the top eight teams in the 2016-17 standings only once. However, four of them - Dayton (15-3), VCU (14-4), George Mason (9-9) and LaSalle (9-9) will be met only on road. Those visiting the Riley Center will be Richmond (13-5) and George Washington (10-8) as well as Fordham (7-11) and Massachusetts (4-14).
The other five teams in the conference - Davidson, Duquesne, Rhode Island, Saint Joseph’s and Saint Louis will be met home and home. Among that group, only Rhode Island, the winner of the A-10 postseason tournament, finished with a winning record in regular season conference play last season.
The Bonnies were 11-7 in the A-10 and were eliminated in the quarterfinals of the conference tournament by Rhode Island, 74-63.
