Explore the science of craft beer from 5 to 8 p.m. June 9 at the Hauptman-Woodward Medical Research Institute (700 Ellicott St.). Join HWI researchers and 14 area breweries, cideries and distributors at the event. Food from Fat Bob’s Smokehouse, music by Tim Britt and a customized tasting glass are included with your ticket ($40, available at Ticket proceeds benefit the Institute. Call 898-8668.

A beer prom

The Buffalo Beer Goddesses are holding the inaugural Hoppily Ever After, a beer prom for adults, 7 p.m. to midnight June 10 at The Event Center at Lakeward Spirits in the Barrel Factory (65 Vandalia St.). Tickets are available at for $55, which includes two drink tickets, hors d'oeuvres, dinner, dancing (prom attire requested) and more. The event is a fundraiser for the group’s Cicerone Scholarship for Women, dedicated to the advancement of women in the local beer industry..

Infuse your beer with flavor

Bring your own ingredients to infuse into beers on tap during a Randall Jr. Mixer event at 4 p.m. June 8 at Pizza Plant (7770 Transit Road). The Randall Jr. device, created by Dogfish Head, allows easy infusion of ingredients while not losing too much dissolved carbonation in the beer. Some hops and spices will be provided. Beers available to infuse include 120 Minute IPA (India Pale Ale), World Wide Stout and Namaste witbier. Call 632-0800.

Join the Clam Jam

Resurgence Brewing Company (1250 Niagara St.) is releasing its new Lime Berliner Weisse in cans at 11 a.m. June 10 during its Clam Jam party. The party will feature special cocktails, clams and kombucha from Bootleg Bucha. Food trucks and live music will also be part of the fun. Call 381-9868.

Five & 20 festivities

Five & 20 Spirits & Brewing (8398 US-20, Westfield) will host its Sunday Sesh with the Good for Nuthin String Band from 1 to 4 p.m. June 11. The free family friendly event will feature an outdoor concert with American Roots music and food by Bird eatery. Call 793-9463.
