An Angola man faces felony and aggravated driving while intoxicated charges after a traffic stop Tuesday morning, the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office said.
Dmarcus A. Tallchief, 24, was pulled over at about 12:11 a.m. on Route 5 in Sheridan. A deputy determined Tallchief was intoxicated and he was arrested, the Sheriff's Office said.
Tallchief's blood-alcohol reading was not disclosed, but an aggravated DWI charge is lodged when a person's BAC is alleged to be at least 0.18 percent. He had a DWI conviction in the last 10 years, which elevated the DWI charge to a felony, authorities said.
Tallchief also was charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, operating a vehicle without an ignition interlock device, driving without a license, failure to dim headlights and speeding. He was remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond.
