Marjam Supply buys Cheektowaga warehouse

A building supplies distributor has acquired a Cheektowaga warehouse property for its 10th location in New York State, but first in Western New York.

Marjam Supply Co. Inc. paid $525,000 to buy a 22,750-square-foot building and three acres of land at 2117 Old Union Road, located on the border with West Seneca, according to broker Howard Saperston Jr. of Saperston Real Estate, who represented both the buyer and the seller.

The property was sold by Warner G. Martin, owner of the former Bos Hatten company that previously occupied the site, which has since been used by a crane repair company and a steel fabricator. The building includes three 10-ton cranes and three overhead doors, with 3,500 square feet of office space.

Founded in 1979 in Brooklyn, Marjam operates 36 "super-center" distribution sites and additional locations in 12 states along the East Coast. Besides the new Buffalo site, it acquired a facility in Syracuse, and runs another in Newburgh in the Hudson Valley.
