Letter: Why is Ford rewarding ex-CEO for a lousy job?

Why is Ford rewarding ex-CEO for a lousy job?

On May 26, I read with dismay that former Chief Executive Officer Mark Fields, who was ousted from Ford Motor Co., will receive about $57.5 million in compensation! Compensation for what? What am I missing? Oh, in other words, don’t do a good job, we’ll oust you and you can live in luxury the rest of your life thanks to the auto worker and the auto buyer.

To add insult, a new truck costs upward of $60,000. Ford blames high wages on unionized workers. What a farce! What are the other lower-waged executives making, upping the price of a new vehicle? They should be ashamed. I for one will never buy new again.
