Chason Affinity project is ideal for Elmwood Village
As a resident and property owner in Allentown for decades, I wholeheartedly endorse the Chason Affinity project for the Elmwood Village. Objectors have got it just plain wrong. We all want the same thing: a vibrant neighborhood that is a desirable and exciting place to live, work and play. This building respects the scale and aesthetics of the locale. A realistic appraisal of current conditions would include undesirable traffic congestion, “historic houses” of no particular quality and unrealized potential for exciting synergy with Hotel Henry and our museums of international renown.
Chason Affinity’s proposal represents a big improvement on every one of these counts. The builder’s sensitivity to the wishes of its neighbors is laudable and should set an example for other developers. A few protesters don’t accurately reflect the widespread community support this fantastic idea enjoys. We should make it happen, and soon.
