A 17-year-old Longnecker Street teen was arrested by Buffalo Police on second-degree robbery and weapons charges for the alleged armed theft of a scooter-like hover board from a Winslow Avenue juvenile on March 26, officials confirmed Sunday.
The suspect, part of a group of boys who allegedly came to the first block of Winslow Avenue late in the afternoon of March 26 to consider the purchase of the hoverboard from its youthful owner, was taken into custody on Peach Street Friday, according to an arrest report.
The Longnecker Street teen was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a rifle, which he allegedly pulled on the Winslow Avenue boy before he and his associates, who still are being sought by police, made off with the hoverboard.
The teen also was charged Friday with third-degree menacing and petit larceny. He remained in custody at the Erie County Holding Center Sunday.
