Suspect held for store crimes on East Delavan and Kensington Avenue

Kevin L. Spell, 36, of Buffalo, remains in custody, charged with two recent store crimes, Buffalo Police confirmed Saturday. Spell was captured  after allegedly stealing goods and injuring a store worker  about 4 p.m. May 27.

After Spell was arrested near the Rite Aid pharmacy at 756 East Delavan Ave. and the male worker who was injured there was treated, officers confirmed Spell also was wanted for an early morning break-in in April at a women's fashion store on Kensington Avenue.

According to Buffalo Police records, Spell is charged in the Rite Aid incident with second-degree robbery, fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, third-degree assault and second-degree harassment.

Spellalso is charged with breaking into Lucky's Fashion, 1074 Kensington Avenue about 1:20 a.m. April 20 by throwing a large rock through a window and causing over $250 in property damage. He is charged with third-degree burglary and third-degree criminal mischief in that case.
