Deepen Red House Lake while dam is being rebuilt
Currently there are plans to rebuild the dam on Red House Lake in Allegany State Park. The lake will be lowered, and fish removed to Quaker Lake.
Why not make a major improvement to the lake and dig up a portion of the lake bed? Down to say, 35 feet, so the trout can make it through the summer months? Forty feet would probably be better.
If trout could survive through the summer, there would be more natural reproduction of trout in the lake.
