On the job
Ruth D. Bryant was appointed last month to the city’s Preservation Board.
The only African-American woman with a seat on the board, Bryant is a former assistant dean for human resources at the University at Buffalo’s School of Architecture and Planning.
Thursday was her second meeting in her new position.
Let the fun, food and fitness begin
Maybe catching a live performance by local musicians is more your thing. And who among us can walk by our favorite food truck without indulging?
But don’t forget to stop by your favorite vendors to stock up on specialties and locally made products.
Where else but at the South Buffalo Farmers Market can you get all this and lots more?
It’s back for its fourth season beginning Sunday. South District Councilman Christopher P. Scanlon and the Buffalo Police Athletic League sponsor the popular market. It runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Cazenovia Park every Sunday in June through September.
The list of vendors includes: 1801 Handcrafted, Cedar’s Bakery, Chateau Buffalo, Citrus Smashers, Desi’s Produce, Duke’s Donuts, Farm This Way, Fetch! Gourmet Dog Treats, Gino Sticks, I Do Weddings Florist, Keeping Traditions Pierogis, Kupkates Bakery, My Buffalo Shirt, Park Edge Sweet Shoppe, The Pasta Peddler, Peppermint Farms, Public Espresso + Coffee, SK Herefords Premium Beef, Spices by Milly and Weiss Farms.
