A Brooklyn woman took her cab driver for a ride by refusing to pay the fare for a roughly 150-mile trip from Syracuse to the Town of Lockport, according to police.
Maximina Diaz-Lebron, 64, was arrested May 17 and charged with theft of services for failing to pay the $471 cab fare after she had been delivered to her destination, a Robinson Road address in the Town of Lockport, state police said. She caught the taxi at Syracuse's bus station.
Diaz-Lebron was arraigned in Lockport Town Court and remanded to the Niagara County Jail in lieu of $500 cash. She is scheduled to reappear in court at a later date.
