SOME GAVE ALL – An exhibit on local residents who served in World Wars I and II is a highlight of open house tours from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. today in the Orchard Park Historical Society’s Jolls House Museum, 4287 S. Buffalo St. The exhibit, which include letters, was compiled by museum curator Henry Jarocha, whose father was a prisoner of war in Germany.

SWEET SOUND – For the 12th year, St. John’s-Grace Episcopal Church on Colonial Circle will host an interdenominational service for Memorial Day at 10 a.m. It will conclude with an a capella chorus of “Amazing Grace” at the War Memorial across the street on Bidwell Parkway. All are invited.

John J. Albright (Albright-Knox Art Gallery)

LOCAL LEGEND – Historian Mark Goldman will discuss his new book about industrialist John J. Albright at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in the IMAGINE Buffalo lunchtime lecture series in the Central Library on Lafayette Square in downtown Buffalo.
The program will begin at noon in the Ring of Knowledge on the library’s main floor with the first installment of Great Courses video series on Emerson, Thoreau and Transcendentalism. Admission is free. You can bring a lunch or purchase one at the library’s Fables Cafe nearby.
