There will be laughs throughout the area during the first week of June. Here are your best bets:

Two outrageous and hilarious national comedians headline a doublebill at the Barrel of Laughs Comedy Night at 8 p.m. June 1 in the Bear's Den in the Seneca Niagara Casino.

Boston native Nick DiPaolo has honed his biting, sarcastic point of view with appearances on “The Tonight Show,” “Late Night with David Letterman,” “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and “Conan O’Brien.” He’s also acted on his friend Louie CK’s various projects.

Joining DiPaolo is Big Jay Oakerson, a dirty storytelling comedian who is making a name for himself in the comedy world. Info:

A trio of veteran Buffalo comedians will headline a show at 8 p.m. June 3 at Rob's Comedy Playhouse (1340 North Forest Road). Former “Tonight Show” writer Nic Siracuse, musical comedian and impressionist Blane Kelly and 97 Rock personality and club owner Rob Lederman will perform. Tickets are $10. Info:

Dozens of local comedians will compete against each other in the fifth annual Buffalo’s Funniest Person contest at Helium Comedy Club. Several of last year’s finalists, including Allie Brady, Bennett Solowski, Clayton Williams, Jameel Key and Melissa Harris, have re-entered the fray this year as they contend against comics like Black Trump and Booger the Redneck Romeo.

Look to see who will advance out of the first round with shows at 8 p.m. May 30 and May 31 and 7 and 10 p.m. June 1. General admission tickets are $10. Info:
