Disgruntled pizzeria worker charged with false bomb threat

Kyle Wallum, 25, of West Seneca, was arrested at his home Saturday night and turned over to the Orchard Park Police for allegedly claiming there was a bomb in the Union Road pizzeria where he worked.

The bomb threat was reported to police by a manager of the Little Caesars Pizza on Union Road about 7:43 p.m. Saturday and the Erie County Sheriff's Bomb Squad was quickly dispatched. After a complete search of the pizzeria and an adjacent video rental store, the building was cleared by the Bomb Squad at about 8:28 p.m. and the two businesses reopened.

The pizzeria manager told police that he had some issues with Wallum earlier in the evening before Wallum left, came back and claimed there was a bomb in the building. Orchard Park Police contacted West Seneca Police, who took Wallum into custody about 9 p.m.

Wallum was arraigned in Orchard Park Town Court Sunday morning on a felony charge of second-degree falsely reporting an incident and released on $1,000 bail.
