Buffalo woman charged with stealing City of Tonawanda man's wallet

Serina A. Wolfe, 22, of Buffalo, was arrested on felony charges by City of Tonawanda police early Sunday morning for allegedly stealing the wallet of a man she had just met at a Main Street bar there.

Wolfe was found by officers several blocks from the bar about 4 a.m., shortly after the victim called police. He said she had apparently stolen his wallet containing cash and credit cards as they left the bar together within the previous hour, according to Police Capt. Fredric Foels.

When Wolfe was confronted by officers, she denied the theft, but she was charged after officers reported finding the victim's empty wallet in a nearby dumpster on Main Street.

After Wolfe was taken into custody, a police matron reported finding $540 in cash in Wolfe's underwear. Wolfe is being held on a felony charge of fourth-degree grand larceny and misdemeanor charges of petit larceny and possession of stolen property.

She remained in custody at the Erie County Holding Center Sunday pending further court proceedings.
