A new festival will make its inaugural run at Buffalo Riverworks over Memorial Day weekend.
The Totally Buffalo Festival will take over the venue adjacent to the Buffalo River on May 27. Organizers say their conception of the festival is based on the notion of highlighting homegrown artists, products, food, drink and services, and celebrating the resurgence along our waterfront.
In addition to some 85 all-local vendors offering food, drink, jewelry, artwork and more, six bands will perform throughout the day, covering a wide spectrum of styles that co-organizer Scott Celani said "properly represent our vibrant scene," among them blues, jazz, Latin music, R&B, country, rock and pop. Scheduled to perform are the Growlers Blues Band, Dale Toliver Band, Son Boricua, White Chocolate, 90 West and the Scott Celani Band.
The festival has been imagined as an inclusive, family friendly event. Toward that end, there will be a Kids Zone, a Sports Zone and several other interactive and family-friendly activities.
Info: The Totally Buffalo Festival takes place from noon to 9 p.m. May 27 at Riverworks (359 Ganson St.). Tickets are $5 at door; children younger than 5 are admitted free. Portions of the proceeds will go to Special Spaces Buffalo and Carly’s Club.
