Two girls said they were followed in separate incidents by a man in a vehicle near Southside Elementary on Tuesday, according to Buffalo Public Schools officials.
One girl said she was followed from the fire station at the corner of Southside Parkway to the playground at the elementary school. Another girl said the man followed her and then pulled into the parking lot at the playground where he sat and watched students using the playground. The children went inside the school without incident.
School officials said police were investigating.
The man was described as a white male between 40 and 50 years old with a scruffy beard. He was driving a black truck with a dent in the rear, driver's side door and bumper, school officials said.
School officials asked parents and guardians to share information with their children about the vehicle involved in these incidents, as well as how to avoid strangers. Students are asked to report any similar incidents.
