Cotton balls allegedly laced with opium lead to Peace Bridge arrest

An Alaska man was charged with weapons and drug possession by Buffalo Police after he was stopped on the Peace Bridge by Customs and Border Protection officers.

Anthony J. Davis, 25, of Homer, was driving into Buffalo from Canada just before 1 a.m. Saturday. He remained in custody at the Erie County Holding Center Sunday.

A stun gun and cotton balls allegedly laced with opium were found during an inspection of Davis' vehicle when he crossed the bridge. He was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, according to an arrest report.
