Donna L. Braun, North Tonawanda 2nd Ward alderwoman, announced Thursday she will run for re-election to her third term this fall.
Braun, a Republican, said she also will seek the nominations of the Conservative and Independence parties. Braun said she intends to concentrate on economic development projects.
She said, “We have made needed upgrades to our Oliver Street corridor, but work remains, and I hope to continue being an advocate for the development of this historic downtown. I will continue to work with grassroots groups like Citizens on Patrol, Oliver Street Merchants and Webster Street Merchants to make the 2nd Ward a better place.”
Braun said the re-opening of the site housing the Dockside Restaurant, across from the redeveloped Remington Lofts, was the kind of “bold rethinking” that North Tonawanda’s downtown needs.
