The Grand Island Town Board will continue its discussion on plans for a town community center at a special workshop meeting at 5 p.m. May 23 at Town Hall, 2255 Baseline Road.
The special meeting will be a continuation of a lengthy discussion by the board on Monday, which at times turned heated.
The plans for a community center, under discussion for over a year, are still very fluid and no location or costs have been decided.
Councilman Raymond A. Billica said he wanted to seek requests for proposals.
Supervisor Nathan D. McMurray objected and said the first step should be to get a feasibility study. He said the engineering firm of Clark, Patterson, Lee, who are doing the town's master plan, would do it for free.
The board disagreed on this.
