Woman accused of taking $84,000 from elderly relative's bank account

A Town of Tonawanda woman is accused of stealing $84,000 from the bank account of an elderly relative.

Irene E. Rogenmoser, 63, of Heritage Road was charged with second degree larceny after City of Tonawanda  detectives conducted an investigation based on complaints against Rogenmoser by other concerned family members.

The investigation revealed the missing funds came from the bank account of the elderly woman, who was described as having some memory problems. Police said Rogenmoser got her own name onto the account of the relative and, within minutes of getting access, withdrew $84,000.
