Lockport woman admitted Tuesday that she took part in a burglary at a Newfane store where cigarettes valued at more than $1,000 worth were stolen.
Brittany R. Ubiles, 30, of Niagara Street, pleaded guilty to third-degree burglary and was admitted to the judicial diversion program of court-supervised drug treatment.
Niagara County Judge Matthew J. Murphy III said Ubiles risks up to seven years in prison if she fails in the rehabilitation program. If she succeeds, the charge will be reduced to a misdemeanor or dismissed. Either way, she will not go to jail.
Ubiles and Shawn K. Pittler, 28, of Lockport were arrested about Jan. 30 after smashing a window at the Dollar General store in McKee Street in Newfane and entering the store. Charges remain open against Pittler.
