Get yourself ready for today's #PrepTalkLive action with everything you need to know about the day ahead in high school sports.

What to watch for Tuesday

1. Softball - Depew at Alden, 5 p.m.

No. 1 Depew (8-3, 7-0) hosts No. 3 Alden (10-2, 6-1) for the second meeting between these top small schools. Depew won, 3-1, on April 17.

The Wildcats stayed undefeated in ECIC III with a 6-1 win at Cheektowaga yesterday. Star pitcher Karsen Cotton struck out 13 batters and scattered three hits in a complete game effort. Abby Tomasik went 3-4 at the plate with a double and a RBI.

Meanwhile, the Bulldogs smoked East Aurora yesterday, 23-0. Pitcher Brooke Strausbaugh gave up one hit and struck out seven in the first five innings, and Emma Diebel finished of the last two in relief. Offensively, Sara Pasternack went 2-3 with a double and three RBIs.

Defending champion, top-ranked small school Depew is keeping it real

2. Baseball - Alden at Maryvale, 4:45 p.m.

No. 1 small school Alden (9-2, 7-1) looks for the season sweep of No. 10 large school Maryvale (8-4, 6-3) in one of the top baseball games on Tuesday. Alden won, 7-5, back on April 22.

Tom Bednarski threw a complete game two-hitter with 16 Ks to lead the Bulldogs to a 2-1 win at East Aurora Monday. Josh Chester and JJ Foster each had three hits to lead the offense.

The Flyers were up 3-0 going into the bottom of the seventh inning against Starpoint yesterday but fell, 4-3. That snapped a four-game winning streak for Maryvale since back-to-back losses to Alden and Starpoint.

3. Boys lacrosse - Canisius at St. Joe's, 4 p.m.

Heated rivals St. Joe's (8-4, 5-0) and Canisius (7-4, 4-2) meet for one more time this regular season. St. Joe's took the first game at Canisius, 9-7.

The trio of seniors Blake Zachau (three goals) and Jack Lalley (three assists) and freshman Hunter Parucki (two goals, one assists) carried the load offensively for the Marauders.

The Crusaders after the loss to Joe's lost to Bishop Timon-St. Jude in overtime, 15-14, but rebounded with wins over Nichols at St. Francis last week. Senior Joe Cooley leads the team with 26 goals and 17 assists.

High School Extra (April 26): Joe's lax wins Round One over Canisius

4. Girls lacrosse - Eden at East Aurora, 5 p.m.

East Aurora (8-2, 5-0) and Eden (5-5, 3-1), the top two teams in Class D, face off in the top girls lacrosse game of the day.

The Blue Devils won a tightly-contested 8-6 game at Eden on April 26. Allison Kasprzyk scored six goals on the day, including the 100th and 101st of her career. The senior leads the team with 62 goals and 66 points on the season.

The Raiders have since registered three dominating league wins against Gowanda, Springville and Lew-Port. Maureen Bender, Danielle Thompson and Brit Nowak are a few of the top offensive players for Eden.
