Falls woman accused of speeding on suspended license in stolen car

She was, police say, speeding and driving on a suspended license, in a vehicle stolen from Enterprise Rent-A-Car with the driver's side windows smashed in.

It all started, according to City of Tonawanda police, when they pulled over Andrea C. Alexander, 26, of Centre Court in Niagara Falls, at about 12:40 a.m. Saturday for driving too fast on Niagara Street.

A state Department of Motor Vehicles check on her license found two suspensions for failure to pay fines. It also revealed the vehicle she was driving was reported stolen by the rental car agency on Feb. 23.

Police charged Alexander with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, driving without a license, unregistered motor vehicle, speeding and use of a vehicle without the owner's consent.

Alexander could not explain the damage to the windows. She was held for a court appearance.
