Bak USA has launched its latest computer – a 2-in-1 laptop and tablet built for classroom use – that will be sold in Microsoft Store locations.
The second-generation Atlas computer, aimed at students from kindergarten to grade 12, is designed to be durable while also including features like a built-in handle, an attached stylus, a camera that can rotate 180 degrees and an extended life battery.
The computer, which runs on Windows 10 Pro, also capitalizes on Bak's relationship with Microsoft, which will sell the laptop at its stores across the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico.
The laptop runs on a quad-core Intel Atom processor and also includes a suite of education-related software tools from Microsoft.
Bak USA is a social enterprise in Buffalo founded by the Bak family as a way to produce more affordable tablets and laptops while employing a diverse workforce largely from disadvantaged segments of the population.
