Bank on Buffalo pushes back debut of two branches

Bank on Buffalo has pushed back the opening date for two additional branches.

Its Orchard Park and Amherst locations probably won't open until late August or early September, said Martin T. Griffith, Bank on Buffalo's president. The bank had targeted opening a branch at 5190 Sheridan Drive in late May, followed by a location at 3049 Orchard Park Road in Orchard Park a few weeks later.

"To be fair, it's our first go-around here with the architects involved with the project, and it's always harder to get through that first design," Griffith said. The design concept for the first of the two new branches, in Amherst, took about three to four weeks longer than expected, he said.

But the bank now expects when the time comes, the Amherst and Orchard Park locations will open within a week or two of each other, instead of a longer gap.

Bank on Buffalo is operating one branch so far, in the downtown Electric Tower.
