YMCA Buffalo Niagara will host its annual Healthy Kids Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in all eight of its Western New York branches.
Events are designed to inspire children to stay physically and intellectually active all summer long.
The free event, open to the public, includes family fitness classes, healthy snacks, arts and crafts, bounce houses, sports and games, face painting, and more. Families also can get information on Y summer camps.
Parents can reserve a child’s spot and save on the registration fee from Friday to Sunday, with a $10 deposit per camper, per week required for day camp, and a $50 deposit per camper, per session required for overnight camp.
Families looking to join the YMCA also can have the join fee waived this weekend.
“When a child is healthy, happy, and motivated, they are bound to grow into thriving adults,” Penny Snell, association director of Child Care Operations with the YMCA Buffalo Niagara said in a news release. “We believe all children have potential, and we strive to help kids find that potential within themselves. Healthy Kids Day is a great opportunity to both educate families and motivate kids to realize their potential by staying active in spirit, mind and body throughout the summer.”
