Nick Ciraolo of Clarence did a month's worth of work in a week on the baseball diamond.
In four games he went 7 for 13 with two walks. Nick had 2 doubles and three homers, scored four runs and drove in eight. On the mound he pitched a complete game against Frontier allowing two earned runs on four hits and two walks. But without question, the signature performance of the week came against Section III AA defending section champion Cicero North Syracuse. He went 4 for 4 with two RBIs. He tied the game with a two-out RBI single in the sixth and had a game winning walk-off solo home run in the eighth inning to secure a 4-3 win.
Nick is our Prep Talk Boys Athlete of the Week.

Coach Dave Smith on Nick: "A super kid that loves to play the game. Hustles every ball out on the bases and will do anything asked of him."
How has your season gone so far? We are 5-0 in our league and 7-0 overall.
Highlight of athletic career so far: Hitting a walk off home run against state power C-NS.
Favorite thing about my sport: No matter how bad of a day you're having at the plate you always have your team behind you to pick you up.
Favorite teammate and why: David Solazzo because he's the type of guy to have my back or help me shake off a bad game and a great friend to hang out with off the field.
Toughest opponent and why: Lancaster because they have some talent that not all teams are lucky to have.
Pro/college athlete I admire now and why: Mike Trout because he's a great team player on the field and off the field he's helping non profit organizations like the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program.
Favorite school subject: Physics
What’s ahead (athletics and/or academics): I'm going to Fredonia State for business and finance and to play for their baseball team in the spring.
Attention, coaches: If one of your athletes had a big week, let us know about it. Send nominations to email@example.com by Saturday night, and we'll take a look at his or her heroics.
