Kim Pegula says Sabres 'definitely put a lot of work' into hiring search so far

Kim Pegula says the Sabres have started their hiring search after firing General Manager Tim Murray and coach Dan Bylsma.

“We’re keeping it under wraps, but definitely put a lot of work this week in, and next week,” Pegula said Wednesday.

Pegula was outside the Sabres’ arena to announce a partnership between Labatt USA and Pegula Sports and Entertainment. They announced plans to develop 79 Perry St. into a mixed-use facility that will house a Labatt restaurant and brewery.

The Pegula Sports and Entertainment headquarters are a few blocks away in the Fairmont on Scott Street, but Pegula said it’s possible the offices of PSE and the Sabres could move into the building on Perry.

“It’s all open,” Pegula said. “We’ve just really been working on the Labatt partnership and getting that solidified. Now that there’s a lot of other things going on, we can certainly have all those options.”

Pegula has also been talking with Buffalo Bills scouts and coaches as they prepare for the NFL Draft on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

“It’s a long, busy week with a lot going on,” she said.
