Weather permitting, the Buffalo Bisons and Norfolk Tides will wrap up their season’s business against each other with doubleheaders the next two days.
The scheduled doubleheader on Tuesday at Harbor Park in Norfolk, Va., which included a makeup of last Thursday’s rainout at Coca-Cola Field, was rained out. The Bisons and Tides will play at doubleheader today starting at 5:05 p.m. Less than 24 hours later, the teams will complete their season series with a twin bill on Thursday starting at 12:05 p.m. The Bisons will travel to Durham for a three-game series against the Bulls starting on Friday night. The Herd will return home on May 2 to open a three-game series against the Rochester Red Wings.
The Bisons are 11-4 so far, the best record in the International League, however, 12 of their 15 games have been at home where they are 9-3. The Herd’s road record is 2-1, with all three games at Rochester.
Right-hander Jarrett Grube (1-1, 4.80) and Luis Santos (0-0, 0.00) were scheduled to start for Buffalo on Tuesday and presumably will be moved up today. Santos was promoted from Double-A New Hampshire last week. He pitched three scoreless innings in his debut with Buffalo last week.
Lefty Chris Lee (0-1, 9.28) and right-hander Zach Stewart (0-1, 6.97) were the scheduled starters for the Tides, who split a pair of games at Coca-Cola Field last week. Grube took the loss in Norfolk’s 9-5 win on April 19.
Right-hander Mike Bolsinger (0-1, 2.45) and lefty T.J. House (3-0, 0.53) are the expected starters for the Herd on Thursday against right-handers Mike Wright (0-2, 6.62) and Tyler Wilson (0-1, 12.00).
