Harry W. Lacey, a retired hospital account manager, died on Thursday in his Alden home after a short illness, he was 100.
Born in South Dayton, Mr. Lacey graduated from East High School in 1934 and studied at the University of Buffalo.
He worked for the Ralston Purina Co. for 34 years, starting as an office boy and rising through the ranks to become office manager. Later, he became the patient account manager for Mount St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston, from where he retired in 1983.
Mr. Lacey was a member of Parkside Lutheran Church, where he was an usher for many years and also a deacon. Hew was active in Amherst Meals On Wheels, Amherst Senior Citizens and Alden Senior Citizens.
His wife of 62 years, the former Ruth Noll, died in 2001.
Survivors include one daughter, Carol A. Taradena; five grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. today in Harry Wedekindt Funeral Home, 280 Grover Cleveland Highway, Amherst.
