Lockport man arrested in domestic violence case

LOCKPORT – Jamal D. Thompson, 26, of Pound Street, was charged Saturday with choking and punching his ex-girlfriend and putting a knife to her daughter's throat.

Thompson was arrested by Lockport police about 5:20 a.m., after he allegedly fled the scene in a car that was stopped by Niagara County sheriff's deputies. The attack reportedly occurred in the ex-girlfriend's apartment on Pound Street.

Thompson was charged with third-degree robbery for allegedly grabbing the cellphones of the woman's daughter and a friend of the girl's. He grabbed a knife from the kitchen and threatened to kill the daughter, police charged.

Thompson was charged with third-degree robbery, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, menacing, harassment and child endangerment.
