Green thumbs wanted to nurture Delaware Avenue gardens in Kenmore

The Kenmore Village Improvement Society is looking for volunteers who would like to put their green thumbs to good use.

Each year, the organization maintains and beautifies small gardens along Delaware Avenue. Those who rally to the cause as volunteers are known as "KVIS Green Thumb Helpers."

Two of the gardens are at Delaware Avenue and Delaware Road and at the library.

"No special skills are needed to adopt a little garden for the growing season, just the desire to keep it free of weeds and trash and looking good, any person or organization is welcome," stated  Melissa Foster, president of the Kenmore Village Improvement Society.

For information on being a Green Thumb Helper, contact Foster at and (716)  877-0477, or visit the website or Facebook page.
