The union representing 525 corrections officers, nurses and administrative clerks and laborers at the Erie County Holding Center ratified a two-year contract with the county Friday, Erie County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz said.
The contract through Dec. 31, 2018, provides 2 percent raises for each year. The employees are members of Local 264, International Brotherhood of Teamsters.
Poloncarz said the labor union consented to the use of part-time nurses in the holding center's medical unit. The county executive said this will provide savings to the county.
