Arcade Fire Department gets special oxygen masks to save pets

After saving the homeowners, Arcade Fire Department volunteers at fires will be able give family pets oxygen, too.

The fire company has received two pet oxygen mask kits from Invisible Fence of Upstate New York. The donation is part of the company's Project Breathe program, which has a goal of equipping every fire station in the United States and Canada with pet oxygen masks. The masks allow firefighters and EMS staff to give oxygen to pets that are suffering from smoke inhalation when they are rescued from fires.

The company has set up a website, invisiblefence.com/O2, where local fire personnel can make a request for their departments.
