Last-minute tax filers in New York state will have extended access to help from a call center on Monday and Tuesday.
The Income Tax Call Center at the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance will be open until 7:30 p.m. both of those nights to help people who have questions about preparing their taxes.
Tuesday is the deadline for filing income tax returns.
The call center's hours on Monday and Tuesday will be 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. It can be reached at 518-457-5181.
So far this tax-filing season, the center has answered more than 321,000 calls, according to state officials. On Monday and Tuesday, the center expects to answer about 30,000 calls. The center's normal hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
