Elia should have removed Paladino from School Board
I am the parent of a third-grader in the Buffalo Public Schools. I am disheartened and frustrated that Carl Paladino has not yet been removed from the Board of Education by Commissioner MaryEllen Elia. If a child, teacher or principal spoke the way that Paladino did, there is no question there would be consequences. Why should a Board of Education member be treated any differently? Board members set policy and oversee the activities of 30,000 children in Buffalo. Racism and bigotry have no place in this system. Paladino continues to be a distraction from the real work that the rest of us are doing.
