Ransomville woman takes plea deal in sexting with 16-year-old

LOCKPORT - A woman who texted photos of her exposed breasts and buttocks to a 16-year-old girl pleaded guilty to two counts Monday.

Maria C. Ray, 29, of C Street, Ransomville, could go to jail for as long as two years after admitting to endangering the welfare of a child and a reduced count of attempted disseminating indecent material to a minor.

Ray, however, will not have to register as a sex offender, Niagara County Judge Matthew J. Murphy III said.

He scheduled Ray's sentencing for June 5 and allowed her to remain free on bail in the meantime.

The photos were sent from Ray's cellphone March 25, 2016, to a girl who lived in Newfane.
