Leo G. Tringali, Cowper foreman, Army veteran

Leo G. Tringali

Aug. 3, 1929 - April 8, 2017

Leo G. Tringali, foreman for the John W. Cowper Co. and an  Army veteran, died Saturday in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, Amherst,  after a short illness. He was 87.

Born and raised in Sicily, he moved to Buffalo with his family as a teenager and lived on the West Side until he and his family moved to Clarence in 1989.

Mr. Tringali served two years in the Army and in 1953 married the former Anna Zambito, his wife of 63 years, who survives.

After retiring from Cowper in the 1980s, Mr. Tringali went to work for a son, Jeffrey, the operator of a plumbing business, Tringali &  Sons.

Mr. Tringali was a lifelong New York Yankees and Buffalo Bills fan.

Survivors also include another son, Leon; a sister, Evelyn Herman; and four grandsons.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered  at 10 a.m. Wednesday in  Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 8500 Main St., Clarence.
