The Buffalo Bills have signed defensive end Ian Seau.
Seau, who is the nephew of the late Hall-of-Fame linebacker Junior Seau, joined the Los Angeles Rams last year as an undrafted free agent from Nevada.
The Rams released him in September, and he did not join another NFL team through the rest of the 2016 season. The Bills are looking for him to help provide much needed defensive-line depth, and Seau no doubt received an endorsement from new Bills defensive line coach Mike Waufle, who previously served in the same capacity with the Rams.
The 6-foot-2, 259-pound Seau isn't known for having a great deal of athleticism, but he does show his uncle's tremendous effort and drive.
During the 2015 season at Nevada, where he played end and outside linebacker, he had 10 sacks and 18.5 tackles for loss.
