Insta-Graham: Daniel Cormier chokes out Anthony Johnson in UFC 210 main event, calls out Jon Jones

Daniel Cormier defended his UFC light heavyweight championship by strangling Anthony Johnson into submission in the second round of their rematch Saturday night at KeyBank Center.

The UFC 210 main event didn't provide many fireworks during the bout, but Cormier overtook the power-punching Johnson on the mat, delivered a succession of unreturned right hands to Johnson's head and then moved into position for the fateful rear-naked choke.

In the octagon afterward, Johnson announced his retirement, cryptically saying he had committed to another line of work. He didn't say what his new career would be.

Cormier blasted UFC legend Jon Jones, seated ringside, for being suspended and said he'll be ready whenever Jones -- to paraphrase -- gets his act together. Jones' suspension is scheduled to end in July.

Cormier revealed a Johnson shin to the face might have broken his nose in the first round, but Cormier outstruck him, 85-22, and dominated on the ground.
