NIAGARA FALLS – A man who fled from police Sunday was arrested on outstanding warrants after being found hiding beneath a pickup, Niagara Falls police said.
Kyle T. Stewart, 30, of River Road, was charged with criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument after a needle was found in his possession, said police, who added that the suspect fled because he knew he had outstanding warrants, included a failure to appear out of Niagara Falls City Court and an unspecified warrant from Wheatfield Town Court.
Officers said they observed Stewart and an unidentified woman walking along the I-190 exit ramp at Niagara Falls Boulevard about 10:30 a.m., when both took off in opposite directions. Stewart, police said, ran through a nearby hotel before being found beneath the pickup in the parking lot of a doughnut shop.
