North Tonawanda man faces life in prison as sexual predator after 2 attacks

A North Tonawanda man could spend the rest of his life in prison after he was convicted Friday of being a sexual predator.

Larry G. Saunders, 40, of Bryant Street, was found guilty by a Niagara County Court jury of attacking two women almost a year apart.

Saunders was found guilty of first-degree criminal sexual act and three counts of second-degree strangulation for an attack July 3, 2015.

He was found guilty of first-degree rape for a May 26, 2016, crime against another woman. The jury also found him guilty of predatory sexual assault for a combination of the two crimes.

Judge Matthew J. Murphy III, who presided over the three-week trial, revoked Saunders' bail and scheduled sentencing for June 5.

Assistant District Attorneys Holly E. Sloma and Lisa M. Baerhe were the prosecutors, while Saunders was represented by attorney David Addelman.
