Hostel Buffalo-Niagara is too important to lose
I am writing to share with the people of Western New York what a treasure the Hostel Buffalo-Niagara is to our community, city and region.
I have stayed in hostels in Europe and South America, but I have never experienced one that was so welcoming and homey as ours here in Buffalo.
For those of you who don’t know what hostels are, they are a type of low-cost accommodation that usually has a mix of shared rooms with bunk beds and private rooms. They generally have communal spaces such as kitchen and living areas that facilitate community among travelers.
Our hostel is beautiful and laid our perfectly. It is full of art and character. It has a great kitchen that is used by the visitors, as well as local organizations that feed people in our city. It also has many common areas for relaxing, socializing and playing. In addition, it is home to one of the best art galleries in the city. Due to these wonderful spaces, facilities and amenities, the hostel has become a cornerstone of art, music, community and hospitality in our City of Good Neighbors.
If the hostel is not able to stay in its current location, our city will not only lose the most friendly and affordable accommodation for visitors to the city, but also one of the best community spaces our city has. It would be a huge loss and waste to either displace or end the hostel.
